2020 BUSKERS FESTIVAL CANCELLED

We would like to take this opportunity to discuss a recent decision regarding Buskers Festival. The 2020 committee has had several meetings this month to develop strategies for a successful festival in the midst of COVID-19, but considering current events, we have decided to cancel the festival for this year. With health and safety as a top priority, we don’t feel that it would be safe to run the festival nor do we think that large public gatherings will be allowed by July. In addition to public safety, we do not believe it would be financially responsible to run the festival this year. There are multiple roadblocks that have compromised our budget already with little breathing room. We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to Buskers Festival at any point and all of those who have sent in applications. The volunteers, performers, and vendors are the ones who truly make our festival so special and exciting. It is definitely disappointing to have to make this decision but we plan to have a successful Buskers Festival in 2021. See you then, and stay safe!

JULY 25 – 26

The Bay and Algoma Neighbourhood is excited to announce the 8th annual Bay and Algoma Buskers Festival. The two-day festival takes place over the weekend of July 25th and 26th 2020 and once again is located in the Bay and Algoma Neighbourhood. Featuring over 40 performers rotating through 7 performance pitches located on Upper Bay Street and Algoma, this year’s festival has familiar favourites as well as some new surprises.

GET INVOLVED THIS YEAR

The Bay & Algoma Buskers Festival is looking for new and exciting acts and vendors for this year’s event! Want to become a volunteer? We highly encourage you to join the excitement of our wonderful festival!

The absolute backbone of the festival. We have many volunteer positions available and will have stocked refreshments and snacks for all volunteers for both days.

The Bay & Algoma Buskers Festival gears to provide festival goers with a vast array of food for all tastes – from carnival favourites like cotton candy, to wonderful ethnic food from around the globe.

Please submit an application with a description of your act and availability. As we have limited space for performers we will be contacting our 2019 artist roster by June 17th. All submissions welcome!

Sell your wares right in the middle of the festival. Vendors are assigned 10 x 10 areas on both Bay St. and Algoma St. It’s a market atmosphere and festival goers come ready to shop!
