The Hive is a paint your own pottery café. A place to unplug, relax and create a masterpiece. We offer a no-experience-necessary activity that is suitable for people of all ages. Our goal is to provide Thunder Bay with an environment that encourages fellowship, cultivates creativity, and promotes unplugged, social activities that will be remembered by the piece crafted—a place where everyone is an artist.

The process at The Hive is as follows: customers come in, choose from our selection of hundreds of blank pottery pieces (ranging from kids figurines, to mugs, to functional dishware and more), and paint with over 75 color options! We are excited to also offer a selection of locally made pottery, including Sleeping Giant and Lake Superior plates, all available to paint! We have a small café in which we offer coffee, tea and baked goods all from local suppliers. Once finished, customers leave their piece with us so we can fire it in our kiln. One week from the day they painted, customers return to pick up their finished piece!

We are also very happy to offer a party room at our studio – a place for birthday/ bachelorette/retirement parties, staff retreats, team building nights, etc. You name it, we can host it!
